thats just the rolling stone version of eminems career, some of his best shit has been on mixtapes and coabs, he even had some good shit on Encore
and yeah his new album is way more lyrical than either of his first two MMLP or SSLP... maybe not lyrical in the sense of catchy-technicality but lyrical in the sense of down to earth and witty. you probably just never gave it a real chance, cuz you don't like how it sounds

I won't let your wack rhymes redefine lyricism
For a whole generation raised withtheir fathers in prison
You livin inside an era that is gone
Like government officials trying to justify Vietnam

There isn't a single song that touches Maad City, Sing About Me, or The Art of Peer Pressure on MMLP2. MMLP2 is one of the heaping piles of shit for 2013.

Rap God, Brainless, Baby are better than anything Kendrick has ever made.
Me and my niggas four deep in a white Toyota
A quarter tank of gas, one pistol, and orange soda
Janky stash box when the federales roll up
Basketball shorts with the Gonzales Park odor
We on the mission for bad bitches and trouble
I hope the universe love you today
‘Cause the energy we bringing sure to carry away
A flock of positive activists and fill the body with hate
If it’s necessary
vs
Everybody want the key and the secret to rap immortality like I have got
Well, to be truthful the blueprint's simply rage and youthful exuberance
Everybody loves to root for a nuisance, hit the earth like an asteroid
Did nothing but shoot for the moon since (Pew)
MC's get taken to school with this music
Cause I use it as a vehicle to "bus the rhyme"
Now I lead a new school full of students
Me? I'm a product of Rakim, Lakim Shabazz, 2Pac
N.W.A, Cube, hey, Doc, Ren, Yella, Eazy, thank you, they got Slim
Inspired enough to one day grow up
Blow up and be in a position, to meet Run DMC
And induct them into the mothafuckin' Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame
Even though I'll walk in the church and burst in a ball of flames
Only Hall of Fame I'll be inducted in is the alcohol of fame
On the wall of (shame)
You fags think it's all a game, 'til I walk a flock of flames
Off a plank and, tell me what in the fuck are you thinking?
gimme a break.
