Crucify Me and Blessed With A Curse are definitely the best. Interesting how almost all the even numbered songs are metalcore-by-the-numbers chugfests, while most of the odd-numbered ones are much more emotive and atmospheric.

@mort yeah but I personally find the whole album to be lyrically terrible. but i get what you mean about trying to hard tho. in crucify me he says something like "im merely a graveyard of my form self" its like lol did he dig up my middle school history notebook to find that one?

about four tracks in I realised everything about this album was catered towards Warped Tour concerts and DUDE METALCORE HYPE M/ M/ that I didn't really give the lyrics much thought afterwards. They really are just there to fill in the spaces for Oli to drop dem shrieks and growls.

anyone attempting to find some sort of artistic merit in this album would probably be disappointed

I have to disagree. I think this was the album that pushed the band the furthest, without sacrificing any of the bands core sound, pushing it into a different direction. Lyrically Oli's finest hour, too. Sempiternal went a little too far, this album got the balance perfect.

This might've pushed the band the furthest, but execution-wise, Sempiternal is without a doubt their best, at least musically. Was always too reluctant to pay attention to their lyrics

He's pretty good with lyrics these days imo. Although sput consensus says otherwise.

He's really not bad. Songs like Antivist on Sempiternal give him a bad face, but it's more or less a lone example of weaker lyrics among the other songs.

Antivist is pure fun though, so I can let them shit lyrics slide. Plus, if I remember rightly they were about Jona so that kind of gives the song a little significance.

Only album by them that is worth my time, although "Seen It All Before" from Sempiternal is pretty sick. Love the post rock vibe. Best song they've ever written is "Crucify Me" without a doubt.

Crucify me is their classic track

A

Although i prefer suicide season overall, It Never Ends and Crucify me are their best tracks imo

It Never Ends toes the line between catchy and crushing while Crucify Me is just a brillant progression of their sound

what are the biggest differences between this and suicide season

I guess that Suicide Season lacked much melodic guitar work and any non generic song structure (exctept for last song) while this hasn jonas infkuence which brkught a lot more to tabke

(bit drunk so apologies for kistakes)
