Just got out of the show in STL… it’s fkn crazy that Trent is 60, dude looks and plays like he’s half that. His voice is noticeably weaker but not shot by any means. He doesn’t really scream anymore but that’s what he’s got Robin for. Played a bunch of songs off this record, but I still think it would’ve been really cool to bust out a deeper cut like A Warm Place or Becoming. One of the transitions was the Eraser intro, I really would’ve lost my shit if they played that.
I first saw them at Red Rocks and I still say that’s probably the best concert I’ve ever been to, and this was damn good too. Setlist was shook up enough to feel fresh, and god they opened with the Bones and All song. Nearly turned me into a blubbering bitch right off the bat.
Seriously still one of the best live bands around, but they kinda left me wanting more. I get theyre old but take a fucking break in the middle if you have to. I hate that arena bands will play 90 minutes and call it a night, tickets are so insanely priced these days, I feel like these big bands should be playing 2 hours minimum, but that’s an industry wide problem. I had the same issues with Deftones, funny enough it was the exact same arena.
