"every live video i've seen comparing european or south american crowds with united states crowds says otherwise"

I think there are levels to this. The fans of legacy bands in the US tend to skew much older than elsewhere. For instance, Metallica's next US show is supposed to be at The Masonic in San Francisco—capacity 3,481—and the audience will largely be in their 40s and 50s, as is common for any band whose heyday was in the late-'80s and early-'90s. Metallica's next show in Brazil is at the Hipodromo de San Isidro—capacity of 85,000—and there will be a lot of younger fans. So yes, if we're talking about legacy bands then non-US audiences might be more active simply because they're younger and more passionate about seeing bands that they only get to see maybe once every 3-5 years.

But if you're talking about contemporary bands playing to demographically similar audiences, then US audiences are *WAY* more active. Over the past 5 years I've seen Devin Townsend, Protest the Hero, Periphery, Animals As Leaders, TesseracT, Destrage, and Skyharbor perform in roughly similar venues to roughly similar audiences (mostly late teens to early 30's) in multiple different countries across Asia, Europe and the US, and almost without exception the most energetic audiences were the American ones.

Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.

The bass tone on this is ear candy. Hands down, probably the best slap bass tone for Metal. Plus, the songs are actually super easy to play!
