Album Rating: 3.5

1. Hybrid Theory

2. Meteora

3. A Thousand Suns

4. Minutes to Midnight

5. The Hunting Party

6. Living Things

7. One More Light

Though I will say that there's a clear distinction for me from 1-3 and then 4-7. Though I like them all at least a little bit.

would have loved to see chester performing with Stone Temple Pilots back in the '10s. all super talented and creative dudes in LP that just should have moved on to other projects after their peak

can anyone make a strong argument for their post-peak music making any sort of actual impact on the music industry or their peers or influencing anything that came after them?

Nah they definitely bottomed out hard and fast. However, I'm sure they didn't know that would be the case and had every reason to ride the Linkin Park brand at the height of its popularity.

Minutes to Midnight sucked but was still a pretty big record at the time, or maybe that was just the LP bubble I lived in. I think Burn it down I think was in a commercial or something, lel

to make an actual argument though... i think you could def argue bring me the horizon wouldn't have made that's the spirit and amo if the post-peak lp pop-blueprint didn't already exist (not to mention all the bands who ride bmth's coattails)... and those albums made bmth the class of modern heavy music from a commercial sense. "leave out all the rest" and "shadow of a day" walked so "follow you" and "medicine" could run

And I just threw up reading the last comment. BMTH went pop with each and every album since Count Your Blessing. The albums become more and more accessible until they hit their peak with Sempiternal. That’s the Spirit is a blatant ripoff of Meteora. amo just exists… it is a clusterfuck tbh. It is better to compare One More Light or A Thousand Suns to it rather than Minutes to Midnight.

how does it matter in the slightest? you mean, besides the fact that it's an incredibly meaningful metric for measuring the impact of art...?

no one's saying that music has to be impactful in those ways to be enjoyed. but that doesn't mean the question doesn't matter. come on buddy

"Waiting For The End is a banger"

this is at once a) the best track on this album by a frankly comically margin and b) very much not a banger lol

and yeah, was gonna post BMTH in response to norm's comment too, but tying a legacy's worth of war crimes to LP is still a little #toosoon
