Yeah it's true that plenty of music can be both amazing and immediate. I more meant that this band's music took a bit to grow on me before eventually becoming one of my favorite bands.

It's hard for me to remember because I wasn't really an active music listener when I first listened to The National but I definitely did not love them as much at first as I do now.

Even albums that I love right off the bat usually get even better with time. When you're a rabid music listener (as most of us here are) it's hard to remember to savor music, to let it sit and really sink in.
