Probably my favorite here, and Matt absolutely kills it on that track in particular.

have to agree with this review

- streamlined sound

- chugga chugga chugga

- octanecore

- peak Spencer

Can't rate this yet but probably towards the lower end of their discog for me. P5 was all over the place but had some massive highlights.

Like someone else said here's to hoping this is out of their system and can produce another prog album with epic 10 minuters for P6. Either that or the band has finally exhausted their run and thank you for the good times.

took a break from this for a week or so and this is pretty undoubtedly their worst work. even the tracks i initially liked are starting to grow off.

don't think even one song here would make my top 30 periphery tracks

talk is still a banger for me. obsession, subhuman and blackwall get a lot of spins too

talk is def the best song but i'm kind of apprehensive to give it too much flowers for being the song that sounds most like their past work.

neon valley is prob my other favorite at this point

Talk is great yes

Blackwall possibly my favourite electronic track they ever made

Don't like Subhuman much but I don't care for deathcore

The last 4 tracks are also pretty good.

Maybe I'll raise this to a 3.5

also agree that subhuman isn't very good, same way everything is fine isn't very good on p5. spencer sounds immaculate but i just don't find what the rest of the band is doing all that interesting. the whammy pedal stuff feels especially lazy, one of my least favorite trends in heavy music. this band made zyglrox they don't need that shit!

blackwall tho... honestly a banger. let jake cook!

Hawks>will raise if you give Alpha another chance. Maybe just start from 22 Faces, that 4-track run is goated

gotta listen to alpha back to back with omega or not at all. lots of great stuff on there but it doesn't work at all as a standalone the way omega kinda does.

It’s a shame Matt had to ruin this album with his direction and calling the shots. This album could’ve been so much better had he let Misha and the others keep the cool riffs/ideas in the album instead of cutting them out

I doubt Mischa cares, he helmed a lot of the records and to switch it up means reining in your input for others’

Turns out the best song on the album Heaven On High was Jake’s idea which makes sense. Jake needs more input on these albums, he’s being underutilized

based on the craig reynolds interview they did, it was misha that tasked matt with running everything this time around.

probably the most relatable take on Jug I've ever seen, cheers. Alpha is great don't get me wrong but it's best followed up with Omega.

Juggernaut is better than Alpha and Omega separately that's for sure.

This sounded a lot better listening through it at work. Perhaps I should just let it ride a bit more and pay less attention lol
