But less degrading, it's too theatrical for me. At first I was like wow this dude is actually good at giving a very passionate story telling type vibe, but as it went on it got worse for me and became too "put on". Hard to adequately explain but became very distracting

I knew 0 about the band going into this just saw it had rave reviews, was a sound palate I enjoy, and dug the beginning of the first track so I checked. I know more now from reading this thread, but I still can't do it. It started to grate on me as it went. Music was awesome though and there's a lot to like here for sure

Like he's not wrong about what the vox sound like, but he's wrong about them being lame. They're not awkwardly shoved onto the songs because the dude is talentless or it's a gimmick or whatever, they fit effortlessly in the soundscape. It's a little impressive.
