Honestly might have been my favorite bm of 2025… and I really *really* loved the Deafheaven record man

I'm not sure if it's their best, but it is really good.

I'd take the debut and Finisterre over it, but you can't go wrong. Band has never missed.

DWEF fucking rule. They are my hometown heroes and also incredibly nice people. Plus Nikita recorded all of my mates albums this far and did a great job

Yeah this dagdrom is great, great example of a BM band incorporating shinier production and out of genre elements without it losing the intensity or edge of the source material (looking at you gaerea/mol/etc)

I still jam the sh*t out of this, keeps getting better. I could 5 it. Might be my favorite bm album since Im Wald.
The closer is just perfection.

I feel I'd be able to give this album a 5 if it weren't for the closer. It's not that the closer is bad but it feels completely out of left field in comparison to the rest of the record. Really toned down track for some reason

It works especially well for me for the same reason tbh. Sounds weird, but I like how the album slowly shifts and arrives somewhere else at the end

I agree, Forlorn is my favorite here, probably because it’s so atypical.

I definitely love forlorn but this is the second record in a row they’ve ended with a big emotional clean vocal closer. Hoping they’ll switch it up next LP

The synths really seal the deal with the closing track. I hope they do nastier music in the future though lmao. I miss the malice of Finisterre, but I'd prefer they didn't force it. If the next album is post punk or some shit I'd still check it out.
