Seems like there's only one person trying real hard to not like it. This not being for everyone is not at all surprising and the more hype it gets the more people that it doesn't appeal to will be willing to give it a shot. Most of the comments from people that don't love it have been reasonable.

“I would say they probably owe more to The Number Twelve Looks Like You than anyone else mentioned so far.”

Y’all are gonna think I’m crazy but it reminds me of Mr. Bungle’s California lol

“ This whole LP is actually really strongly put together and clearly indicative of talent and thought but it's ultimately not my bag. It's just way too Hot Topic.”

The problem I have with this band. They’d have a brightly baby puke colored Reptar shirt for sure

I get hints of vein.fm influence, especially on Full Moon Guidance

I was strangely getting Bert McCracken out of these cleans. But yeah I think Puciato/Palumbo is a good comp too. This thing is RIPPIN

finished my full focused playthrough i think CT edges this out ever so slightly, i just think CT is just a bit tighter and has higher peaks, but this is so good and will likely grow on me with repeated listens. the singles flow so well within the context of the album, Lemon is still such an interesting standout for this band.

Favorite track: Full Moon Guidance, though I do have a softer spot now for Mona Lisa

If CT is a 4.7 for me, this is a strong 4.5, big ups to the Daoboys on this. Definitely going to place highly on my AOTY list.

The leads on the last chorus of Lemon are just fucking unreal. I know that songs been out for a minute but god fucking damn I love those guitar parts

Damn, they are certainly giving Deafheaven a run for their money in the heavy AOTY debate, this is incredible. So much fun

Deafheaven is like Janie from Not Another Teen Movie before the makeover.
