A Place for My Head has some of the better verses in it.

Ok, firstly, Hahn is not the only talented member, Chester Bennington is an awesome vocalist, thats just fact.
Also, I love the fact that you are stating that this is just music you would listen to when you were younger, and you can't believe you got suckered into it, but at the same time, most of you are only slagging off this album because its not seen as 'cool' anymore, so your basically following the crowd by slagging it off. Yes, I did get into this album when I was younger and it got me into heavier music, but I still think its a highly credible album, and I still listen to it every so often and love it.

their new album, titled "A Thousand Suns", had a pre-listening in Germany (6 songs).. i tried to roughly translate the German texts
1) Untitled (4:39)
- long intro; drums kick in, then keyboards and vocals in the background
- first verse is sung by Chester alone (rhythm is dancable); rhythm breaks, which reminds of the electronic parts of "Reanimation"...
- Mike can be heard in the bridge; his voice is slowly rising making the song sound heavier as it goes
- ends with an a capella of both Chester and Mike
2) Untitled (4:13)
- begins with sth like an speech held by a leader of some type (probably like that one song by Hoobastank?)
- a guitar riff triggers the sons
- Mike is rapping the first verse; Chester is shouting "Hey! Hey" in the refrain
- Mike is alot more present in this one
3) Untitled (4:00)
- begins with guitar and piano
- Mike's singing is apparently astonishing (like Reggea, lol)
- Refrain isnt clearly recognizable; song doesnt have any structure; no traditional verse/refrain
- ends with an guitar solo by Brad
4) Untitled (4:35)
- tempo is slower than on the first three ones; however, it intensifies as the song goes on
- no clear refrain apparently (they state that they've done an album that wont top the charts cuz its no mainstream).. eww
5) Untitled (4:26)
- out of these six songs, this one is apparently the most surprising one (supposedly like "Breaking The Habit" was for "Meteora"); I dont get how that one was surprising
- it is limited to the minimum; Chester sings alone
- no guitar until around the third minute
- Chester repeats the line "I'm losing what I do not deserve"
6) The Catalyst (5:42)
- first single (apparently not like "Somewhere I Belong" or "What I've Done" like many expected)
- contains the album title in its lyrics
- pianos are included which reminded the listeners of "Le Grand Secret" by Indochine and Melissa auf der Maur
conclusion (not my opinion btw):
- LP took a risk with this album (not as many radio-friendly songs)
- the six other songs contain more guitars as one worker there told them (so there are 12 songs on this album)
- mixture of electronic experiments and big rock songs (whatever that means)
------------------
so.. basically it looks like this will be better than Minutes to Midnight but still pretty mediocre imo.. I'm expecting some auto-tune thrown in
