There are a lot of cleverly placed callbacks and riffs throughout and I’m sure there’s a bunch that I’m missing.

My favorite still is how the Mr. Nobody intro riff is a fried out version of the Afterman outro

I wonder what the narrative reason for bringing back the Delirium Trigger intro is. For as much fan service as they can give us, usually Claudio does it based on what's going on with the story. Didn't notice the Mr. Nobody intro was similar to The Afterman too but I can definitely hear it.

I don't know the particulars of the story other than Vaxis being able to see through time (lol) but Claudio in interviews has repeated that this album was him really reflecting on his mortality and the mortality of the band and its reliance on having a story.

I'm sure we're gonna get even more nods to the og albums (SSTB specifically) over the final two Vaxis installments as the story maybe connects back cyclically to their first album. Wouldn't be shocked if we even get a Shabutie shoutout lol

dunno about Delirium but Sirius Amory came back in the story so the Afterman callbacks make a lotta sense

It honestly feels like how Claudio does a lot, where what is happening in his life aligns more with what he thinks Sirius would feel, so he basically pivoted and wrote an album about Sirius disguised as a Vaxis album.

Yeah, his grandfather died during the height of the initial covid wave. I think the plan was always to bring Sirius back but that was probably the impetus for making this so Afterman-heavy

(Sirius is based off his grandpa)

Kojima is the video game equivalent of Uwe Boll but with a blank check and a Hollywood rolodex. He's as subtle and nuanced as a donkey kick to the balls.

Has anyone ever praised Kojima for his subtlety?

He's regarded because his ideas are super whacky and over the top, while also feeling prescient because his worldview is pretty locked in. Definitely not above criticism, but hard to think of a more aspirational Dude than his lifestyle. He just kicks it with celebrities that he likes and gets all his crazy ideas actualized while watching every movie and listening to every album under the sun lol

Song rules, kojima rules, shared something kind of neat with others who might think it's kind of neat.

Feeling the need to post just to shit on it is just as bunk as your take on the song and the dev. W a c k.

I'm not even obsessed with any of his IPs or play his games religiously but he seems like a rad dude and he has fun and insane ideas. Exactly on point @ no one's here to praise his subtlety and complaining about the lack thereof is a waste of time/not the intelligence flex you think it is. Not everything has to be for you.

I love Kojima because he's not subtle at all. He's over the top ridiculous and not afraid to swing for some wild shit and it always works, except for with MGS5.

Metal Gear Solid 2 is one of the greatest games of all time. Won't stand for Kojima slander here.

I'm not being an asshole, I just think Kojima is overrated as hell and everyone worships the ground he walks on. He's an influential dev and I enjoy some of his MGS games, but the adoration for him was always perplexing. I'm sure he's a nice guy blah blah, but yeah it tickled me that the guy I find to be way overrated picks what I consider the worst track on the album lol.

That was more directed at christbaits completely insane response, your comment was unnecessary but I wouldn't call you an asshole over it.
