gyro is 90% spot on until he pulls a full 180 and reminds everyone why he’s not running the site - absolute chaos incarnate, but we keep feeding him anyway

I wish this ripped off Disturbed and LP. It would be better

She literally does the “ooh-ah-ah-ah” thing in one of the songs and “new way out” has almost the exact same vocal melody as Points of Authority. There’s no chance I’m the only one who hears these lol

so two small things, one actually being so minor it’s actually insane that you brought it up, over the course of a 40+ minute record?

Gotcha

They’re just egregious ripoffs I pointed out. I never claimed they alone drag this album down to a 3 or something (altho this is a total smorgasbord tbh), I was just surprised no one else called them out

This is painfully generic. Sounds straight out of 2014. Might as well be AI-generated.

Ebola: it sounds like a million bucks production wise but yeah at the end of the day nothing is especially original

I think the production is far, far too polished. In one ear and out the other.

The prod and poppy as a vocalist are the only elements I find interesting about it. Songwriting is generic, but I will say she can def write a hook, as evidenced by the last track and the second track

The LP comparison is actually spot-on. It's the very first thing I noticed. Not that it's a bad thing!

If this was influenced in any way by Disturbed it would be an easy 5 so ur all wrong

Yeah it's not especially bad, I'd even say it's pretty varied for a record of this sort, but none of this sticks out. An album that panders to the masses and hops on every radio-friendly trend it can. It just so happens that Poppy is at the forefront carrying it all with her vocals, but that can only go so far when she's surrounded by average-to-bland music.
