It’s been an incredible year for screamo without a doubt.

It's good. About the same level as Clairvoyant for me. This might be more consistent but it has less of the huge 'moments' that made Clairvoyant feel like such a sick experience. Also the samples don't really do anything for me, they feel like an afterthought.

Ya'll need to either chill with the ratings or meet up IRL for a big skramz circle jerk where the tears flow freely and are used as salty salty lube

The instrumentation on here is very fun and the album has some very powerful moments, I wouldn't put it anywhere near the new JD or CoC though. Maybe I'm not as big a skramzhead as I thought.

@house i will say the samples do get to be a liiiiiittle much towards the end of the album but not enough for me to enjoy it any less

this is such a different fix to the new JD that i couldn't form a strong opinion there right out the gates. Mystic Sisters was something special though, that album is still top contemp skramz until we get a sea change (despite not rly being a skramz album)

The samples add so much depth to this. I wouldn't consider them a detriment at all

I love the intro and the ending but they do conspicuously disappear for pretty much the entire middle third of the album

Also I forgot to mention, but this is my first exposure to State Faults. But given the avgs on here, it looks like I need to check Resonate and Clairvoyant soon

And yeah, this is absolutely fantastic so far

The samples are there for a reason I assume and would hope to compliment to the sound the band wants to go for but they're also so inconsequential that it never really bothers me to the point I'd think about deducting points from an album just because I don't jive with it.

I guess a more contemporary comparison would be the new frail body like someone mentioned earlier but I do appreciate the flavor both these bands bring.
