I like bm to have more raw production or dissonance or something. Even on the melodic side of the spectrum, Volahn or Sargeist sound more to my liking. Lots of conventional, consonant, almost power metal type progressions on this. But it's still cool.

Just discovered these guys today and I'm hooked. I strongly prefer bm that has uplifting / bright melodies; after all, MØL was the band that made me like anything bm-adjacent to begin with. The obvious power metal moments remind me of Moonlight Sorcery. Epic album, to say the least. Looking forward to exploring the rest of the discog

Everything's dummy good but their first two don't really lean into any of the PM/almost glam metal vibes. Definitely almost as posi vibes tho off Onryo, Spiraling Chasms I forget lol

Yeah first 2 are raw meloblack metal and some of the best ever done in that style.

Members of Saidan and Vampirska made a group called Velvet Cross and just dropped their debut ep. It is really fucking good.

Closer is interesting but the rest of the EP is the type of killer melodic black metal you'd expect from the Saidan guy. I now need to check out Vampirska too.

Vampirska rules. Definitely jam hard. Loving the gothic metal influences on the first track of the EP. Reminding me a lot of Kekht Arakh.

Saidan killed it tonight! Closing with “I Am the Witch” was huge highlight

Glad they’re focusing on touring — their sound seems like it’s made for the live setting.

The music is so great I wish the production sounded remotely good.
