The half-tempo washed out chugging in The Calm That Keeps You Awake was a really underrated moment, album is still dummy hard to the detriment of literally all other elements but the thrills don't exactly wear thin quickly

grew on me a touch after a few more listens and going back to listen to a tear in the fabric of life. this really does just flow really well and i end up getting sucked in. a bit more varied and groovy than tear and definitely more memorable to me at least. like a 3.8 but i'll bump to a 4.

This is far better than anything they’ve ever done. I’ve never seen the appeal til now. I tried to listen to Tear and I could never get through a whole listen. This, I crave it. I think I’ve done about 5 listens today

i think he just craves the heavy, simple as that. Tear is better but this is more brutal, no doubt

I mean I see differences, same as why I prefer Tear. I just can’t imagine liking this and then saying you can’t get through Tear lol

Tear is far more interesting compositionally, has better riffs, better lyrics… better production. I’d say the only thing this has on that EP is the vocals are better and fs more varied. But that’s also mostly do to the Poppy and Motionless features (both of which are fire) and more Issac
