Garrett absolutely killed the chorus of Collider when I saw them live, he nailed those notes and I was beyond impressed

EDIT: I didn't realize I hadn't rated this yet lol

I really took my time with this album. Not exactly my kind of core niche, but they really kill it in many instances in this album, the production imho is problematic, overly loud and everything gets muffled under the wall of noise that the guitars create. It's even worse when synths become prominent. Not that good for a full listen because of that, but the songs seperately all spank real hard

I still love this album, but after respinning it for my discog runs, this actually grew off me a little. It's still a great album, but some of the tracks I find less impactful somehow. Maybe it's the change in lyrical matter? Everything from :Signal: onwards fucks though

was hoping with a little distance from the rollout that id be able to get more into this and see the singles as more part of the collective whole here, but i still feel like this is pretty cleanly half their best/half their worst material lol. if it werent for the singles and offworlder this is barely a 3 for me. unfortunate as i was really really excited for this

Yeah their consistency hasn’t been great for a while. And even worse their singles are typically the best songs so when the album drops it feels weak

happened with iridescent too but on a much more even scale imo

which ngl to me is proof they're turning out albums too fast. drop half of this for trilogy, anhedonia, housefire, panopticon, and faces, and you have the album i'd want either in full to be
