I thought one of the band members of Adjy turned out to be really weird? Maybe I'm thinking of something else

they have like 0 social media presence beyond a newsletter for fans. i've heard nothing about anything of that nature lol

I've heard from an insider (someone who used to be in the band) that it's a toxic work environment but that's the extent of my knowledge. There could be a lot more to it that I wasn't told. Still enjoy their music a lot but it's a shame if they're not the nicest people.

Why do people make worthless comments like this?

""creep" band Adjy? that really the best word there?"
Yeah, as stated earlier the goss from a certain ex-member was not good, and the way the band have hung around the site self-hyping on sock puppet accounts is defs creepy
This album is okay! Find it overbearing and somewhat in the diminishing returns ballpark across a whole jam, but the intro tracks are great and the guitar tones/synths are really well realised across the whole thing. Whole lot of heart in it, so can't be too harsh. Main surprises were:
・"Love Comes Around" is literally Supercar gone Scottish lol, weiiiird mix of accents/associations there https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O_I3sED_VEc
・Pale Fire reference in "Classic Movies" was a real double-take lol

i mean creep in 2023 implies so much more than "hung around the site self-hyping on sock puppet accounts" which i frankly don't care if they did or did not, i just care if they're like brand new/dgd level creep cuz that's actually bad lol

Pretty sure polysemy predates 2023 by as many centuries as you care to keep track of

I don't mind bands trying to build an audience and I don't know enough about the members themselves to condemn them. Their EP this year is one of my favorites of 2023. All that said, I definitely trust the person who said that the band isn't a great place to be, and that's quite a shame considering how warm and relatable their music seems.

Yeah I have lots of fun with this I’m stoked it’s great! I just don’t really get anywhere near as EMOTIONAL 😭 as I get with TDDB

this is making me more emo from a lyrical standpoint. for now, TDDB is still in its own league but this really isn't far off and i couldn't be happier about that.
