I can't say it truly qualifies as avant-garde at all. Only avant garde if you don't listen to avant garde a lot. I'll admit there are some pleasantly surprising moments on this though.

Aight honestly, they’re the band that got me into heavier music, so I’m biased af. I just never expected anything like the Stage from them. And I definitely didn’t expect anything like this.
