This album is one of the most fun listens that I have had in a long time. I think you guys in Sputnikmusic need to know Muse to understand that the album doesn't take itself too seriously even though they take on serious topics :D Muse found again that thing what made their music so fun and I'm so happy.

I think what makes their earlier albums fun is pure angst and what makes their later albums fun is silliness

I can understand making music that is silly, yet fun at the same time. You don't always have to take it so seriously, but it's hard to have fun when most of the album is just so bland. However, the end of the album does touch upon that much better; Halloween has grown on me.
With that said, I feel they pulled off that fun feeling better with Simulation Theory in my opinion.

I had somewhat (naively) hoped that Will of the People and Compliance would be the only two duds on the album from hearing the singles. But once again, Muse cannot for the life of them write a consistent record these days. I prefer this over Simulation Theory but not by that much.
Won't Stand Down, Kill Or Be Killed and Verona are the only great songs here. Rest is either alright or complete and utter trash.

Why not? Their music was just as ludicrous as it is right now. Back then it was dumb teenage angst and now its just dumb and fun.
