Better than 2020s Metallica, worse than 2020s maiden.

The only appropriate yardstick for legacy metal acts (and that’s what THE are, really)

This was such a solid release, looking forward to what they do next year

Definitely looking forward to another one if they decide they want to do a follow-up to this. This was better than I thought it was going to be.

Hopefully they have proper production on the next one
Never gave this enough time since I'm generally not a fan of "supergroups", wonder if it actually is good after a couple of listens

I thought this was a new Dark Tranquillity album when I heard it playing in my local heavy music store

Downgraded this slightly after listening a few more times - think I was just completely taken in by some fresh melodeath seemingly ported directly from one of my favourite eras of music.
Still slaps though.

Really solid album. Better than new DT and In Flames for me

Regardless of its quality, I'm just happy this exists as some sort of alternate universe project where Mikael Stanne stayed after Lunar Strain and led In Flames into more of what Dark Tranquillity would become than what they would've when Anders joined. I had that what-if for years and it's neat to see it finally being realized in some capacity.

A documentary on the project that was just released. Really great interviews, insight into the band, and the Gothenburg legacy as a whole:
