Actually this is their worst cover art in my opinion. I don't like it at all. Alphaville cover art was awesome, wish they had saved it for this one

Still yet to be determined is whether Johnny rates this responsibly

3.5-3.7 territory on first listen. loved the spread of ideas and points of distinction between individual tracks, but was kinda skronk-heavy and didn't have the huge plummeting motherfuck atmosphere i remember from Alphaville quite as much
was making a work presentation thing at the same tho so idk

Cool rate Johnny.
This drum intro really gets me kickin
The mask she's holding is from the bassist...we can all but wonder what's the story behind it...I would say he lend it to her for the photo session. What do you say professor?

I may have been too quick to shit on this but I can't figure out if there's something behind all this or if it's just for novelty's sake

I assure you there is something behind this, but it's difficult to understand and it's really ugly, it's not nice at all, like life in cities nowadays...

Artwork sort of blows yeah. Thought this was going to be a rap/rnb album when I first saw the cover

"it's difficult to understand and it's really ugly, it's not nice at all, like life in cities nowadays..."
What is the point of listening to music that's intentionally ugly? I get that they're trying to be deep and make some profound statement about urban squalor, but is anyone actually enjoying it? That's the part I don't get. You don't have to pretend you're enjoying something to maintain a façade of heightened understanding.

Or Taxi Driver f.e.

Irreversible is like the worst good movie I've ever seen, I hate a lot of it very deeply but there's also a bunch of really interesting elements.
