Yeah but it's such an obvious comparison. My sister listened to it totally blind and the first thing she said was it was like goth LDR

"Apparently she's not a fan of the Lana del Rey comparisons lol"

Where did you hear this? I don't picture her aspiring to be anything LDR-adjacent either.

This seemed pretty above-average for a pop singer songwriter album after first listen. Idk if it's enough of my thing to go back to anytime soon but I'm sure I'll hear it again when I listen through the staff list at the end of this year.

idk last time everyone was like "listen to this doing nothing and in the dark and prepare to cry" it was IRA and I never found myself in a situation like that so I never listened lol

this album works for that but it’s also just very catchy and even fun at times on its surface

Just listen to it, I mean extra focus will enhance it but that arguably applies to just about all (good) music. Just be prepared for some longish slow-burning material and you’ll be fine.

Like YoYo said, it’s not all dark and heavy on the surface at least, I’ve even considered making a supercut of the “brighter” songs here (American Teenager, Hard Times, Thoroughfare, Sun Bleached Flies, Strangers - most of those still are sad and have heavy lyrical content of course but can be enjoyed on the surface out of context too) for daytime/casual listening.

If she wants to make her own Apokalypsis I'd be down for that too.

neek listen to IRA

also listen to this, because it's good enough that I've had my hands on the upcoming Regina Spektor all week and have only spun it a few times because I can't draw myself away from this

Should I listen to more Chelsea Wolfe Concubine (sorry, said the wrong username dumbly)? I’ve only heard Birth of Violence and it was just decent imo but I know her other stuff is different.
