Oh definitely, that use of the word should absolutely be interrogated and I think Kendrick has earned the benefit of the doubt by now to actually look a little deeper. Even if you're not following along with the lyrics word for word, you can tell it's different than when Eminem called Tyler the slur just a few years ago lol

Well yeah there was certainly never any doubt that he was trying to make a point, it was more just about what that point was and whether or not it was effective and tasteful etc

i do not like that he used the word like 20 times but i did immediately look up the lyrics to the song and attempt to wrap my mind around it. maybe that ultimately is the point

I tend to cherry pick Kendrick’s good songs into a playlist and abandon the rest
