yes Minor Thing is one of my favorite songs by them. So underrated. Also Dosed and Don't Forget Me.

Mother's Milk is awesome but my least favorite with Frusciante.

yeah Blood Sugar Sex Magik will never be surpassed. Angel Dust is the only funk metal/rock album that matches it.

I prefer this over BSSM, I never could get into it aside from a couple of tracks that I enjoy.

I guess is a matter of tastes, because as far as I can remember BSSM sounded completely disjointed for me, though it was a couple of years ago, I think I have to give it a new opportunity.

Yeah I think you've pointed the right thing. Age really affects the way one perceives music, and also some albums age better than others. I really think I need to give a new listen to BSSM because I'm quite positive that I might have missed something.

The only RHCP albums I don't enjoy is their debut and their last ones. This and BSSM are my favorites though and funny enough they are at the opposite ends of the spectrum in their catalogue in terms of style

I know this doesn't have the same impact as BSSM, and it's not like it doesn't have its fillers. However, it's an easy listen, I usually like their mellow stuff, lots of Frusciante harmonies so...yeah

For me BSSM has way more filler than this one.

Nope.

There is zero filler in BSSM lmao. This is good but no where near Sex magik in quality. That's just foolish

"filler"-wise they are both pretty much the same, not much that falls into that category on either record. But the funk-metal of BSSM paired with Kiedis as an obnoxious sex maniac is kind of exhausting for over 70 minutes. By The Way seems more multifaceted, more mature and easier to digest on the whole.

Still digesting these middle few albums, but so far Californication and this are my favorite 'Peppers.
