Do you have no ruth for the Wendy's worker?

My friends, my review indeed foretells what I'm trying to teach you. This album is a warning for those who can understand its meaning. Most of you laugh at me. I do not laugh back. You have yet to foreguess how dire your situation is. Even Deez, who superficially praised my review earlier, he now joins in the laughing. He has yet to truly understand my meaning.

My friends, I come here not as a reviewer, but as a forespeaker: your life, as it is, will not abide much longer. Do not overlook the meaning of this album. There are many who laugh at this review since it lowers the many, disrespects the listeners, and prioritizes lyric/meaning over the sheer sound of the music.

I did not write this review to disrespect the many. I wrote it to help those fewfolk who see the significance of this album's message.Truefriends, please do not indulge in the belief that our current lifeway is normal. Sputnikfriends, please see the strangeness behind this lifeway, and forego it. Nothing you inbide is healthful, no matter your opinion. Everything about this time is wholly strange and unforeheard.

I foresee nothing but berating for this post. I hope that there are occasional readers who see its wisdom, and who can acknowledge the outlandishness of such nowtide mechanical bespeaking outcoming from the normal commenters.

hahahah I love this guy.

I love the review because its perfectly in line with DSO. It sounds like a DSO interview.

I don't care what the meaning is for this record though, as musically its fking boring. Even more boring given the capability those that wrote it. And the very first thing I look for in music is....strangely....the music. Old fashioned I know.

What do all the anti-nihilists in the comment section, have to do with DSO in the first place, I wonder?

I don't even get what's the issue with their Bardo's interview?

Yeah they are obviously into philosophy and they convey that in their art form (I'm including their interview as part of their art) why is that even pretentious in the first place?

@ManFromTheSewer your comment made me remember once more why I love DsO so much. Sadly their lyrical brilliance wasn't accompanied by their musical genius in this one imho, but their philosophical lyrics are always an enjoyable read and make for a deep study.

I recommend any philosophy lover to watch the Noise Vortex furnaces album analysis on YouTube. The Absences podcast analysis and interview was very interesting too

Among other reasons yes.

This isn't a 1 on principle, it’s because I genuinely think it’s awful and so far below their previous releases that it’s almost comical. They’ve never been ‘brilliant’ philosophers either, frost; most of the lyrics on their previous releases are near word for word passages from other sources, cut and pasted together. They are edgy nihilists, at best, and that Bardo interview was an embarrassing mess.

This is definitely a step down in quality but probably more like a 2.5 or 3 for me. Still better than a ton of awful black metal

They've never hidden their lyrical inspirations, like most artists actually. Very few artists conceive completely original ideas lyrically wise. That being said, apart from a few passages they do not "cut and paste" at all. It's the way their music match their lyrics what makes them so special, and that's what built them a cult-status. (Their booklets art and presentation is amazing too, moreso if you are into theology) I highly recommend watching the videos I mentioned above because I know very few bands that inspired such content from their fanbase. There is absolutely no band that comes close to DsO's compositional skills in their Kenose to Paracletus era imho.

I agree about this album being their weakest by a long shot, although not 1.0 bad at all. It's just they used to release such transcendental stuff that this feels way worse than it is.

"They are edgy nihilists" - yeah more or less this is true. Their interest in philosophy/theology is pseudo-deep, and is pretty much just peppered with a bit of latin, greek, biblical, occult and subversive political-theory references. Its a bit more artful and nuanced than what a lot of other black metal bands do though.

Plus does anyone really listen to DsO for the meaning behind the lyrics? They play nerdy, technical black metal really well (in most of their albums). That's the appeal.
