Word. They were 'right up there' anyway and I just remember how hyped I was at the time it was released only to be sorely disappointed. Enough time has passed since then that my bitterness has waned, yet I still don't really like the album on the whole.

Having (only) heard this twice I'd say although it certainly cannot be described as bad, it doesn't wow me. This band probably just isn't for me anymore.

Could be , I need to spin it a few more times, I just know the first 6 songs hited me harder, like I was in instant awe on how good Mastodon songs those were, after Teardrinker it wasn't that obvious anymore, that doesn't necesarily means is bad , I just need more time with it.

the hunter is okay and is a pretty fun album. it's kinda more approachable and more replayable for me than CtS but i realize i'm in the minority

i think blood mountain has the best balance of their strengths and this album is a bit closer to that in some ways but is more repetitive
