Funny to see my original comment here because this album is now my third favorite from them. Owls is one of my favorite prog albums of the last decade and Monarchy is a fun riffathon. This album still has really high highs but the boring parts are a slog.

I keep trying to give this album another chance every few months but it's still not clicking.



It does pick up a bit in the latter half but wow the first half is just... not good. Also, who the fuck greenlit the outro to Dreaming Black Clockwork... It's SO BAD.

Revisited this the other day and I still very much enjoy it even if it's a bit left field and odd at times. It's a nice departure and I actually like all the songs and find they flow pretty nicely. Glad that I still like this as much as when I first heard it.

Its pretty basic bitch "prog" death metal. I fear this band caught lightning in a bottle with Owls and now will fade away and be lost in the sea of other Prog death metal.
