Took a quick listen to Hippotraktor and they're pretty good. They don't really sound like this though, less catchy/pop and more on the post metal side of things. They're kinda the midpoint between this and The Ocean I guess.

Someone on YouTube called the synth line in the new track ''synth bees'' and that's perfect. The more I listen to the song the more I hate it. Completely ruins the chorus for me, it feels so out of place.

One of my favorite albums ever. Just ordered it on vinyl. I agree with a lot of your review but maybe I'm a little biased towards this over Applause because I'm more of a heavy enjoyer. One thing that I think I'd change about this album is the fact that Freak and Napalm are almost the same song.

I LOVED Witness, and it definitely turned me into a fan, but I think at times it's a little too straightforward across the board. This one doesn't seem as initially catchy, but it seems more varied. Time will tell. I also think it's the first time they've had similar production two albums in a row and people are really honing in on this sounding like Witness pt. 2 but I think that has more to do with how it sounds than the songwriting itself.

Yea darker than Witness, but production and songwriting tropes make it sound similar. Hollow Kid kicks ass. I only really feel an urge to return to about half the album. A couple blander tracks and a couple interlude type tracks make it feel less substantial
