It’s pretty good. Not as immediately awesome as Domino is/was but I dig it

New song is just a great emotional track, I couldn't expect more...other than more screaming bits

Let's see if the next album can beat Cultural Scars

Yes you may

I like Culture Scars, and I really want to get into more Hail the Sun

The dude's vocals are killer

Also yeah, I'm pissed at dgd also

This band is getting dangerously close to DGD territory where I eventually didn't even bother checking out their new albums because they all sound exactly the same. All of their riffs sound exactly the same, using the exact same dissonance and tempo. There's absolutely no timbre going on.

I think I can handle maybe 1 more identical album before I'm just over it.

I think they do swancore a little bit better, but every band in that genre just sounds like that

You kinda have to appreciate DGD a lot to actually enjoy such artists like Hail the Sun or Siavaria

DGD's Jackpot Juicer was a fun album, but you can hear the cookie cutter sound

Props for Andrew Wells stepping in, I hope he (or Will Swan) can find a new formula soon, because I got a feeling they are going to split

I'd rather talk Icarus the Owl

HtS is superior nowadays than DGD but anyone tired of Swansoundshit in general will be exhausted (understandably).

Gavin peaked hard on Happiness and have plummeted since.

Happiness is one of the goats

Also, anyone hear about the new Wolf And Bear?

Oh gosh, Satyr was super monotonous my man. Same song copy-pasted without any hook to save it.

Swancore's demise is heavily tied to the fact that it is, by and large, an incredibly incestuous scene. Consider how frequently the lead projects (including Royal Coda) feature members from the same circle of bands.

It makes the sound very insular and with a clear in-group of sorts, partially guaranteeing a lack of new ideas coming into the fold.

Oh yeah, Totem was some of the most repetitive shit they've ever made, but their last album was alright
