The only way you haven't heard an Ari song is if you literally live in a bunker

what WOULD you guys say is the most ubiquitous Ari tune? “Thank u next” I guess? Even tho as I recall “7 rings” was a longer charter
|
| |
thank u next is probably my favorite!
|

scrolling through spotify I heard god is a woman on the radio while living in FL. don’t recognize any of these other titles but maybe if I heard them

I feel like “thank u next” is a bit too simple for its own good songwriting wise (chorus and verse that are essentially the same is a tough move to pull off, especially when the mood is so subdued). Prefer other tu,n tracks and stuff like “successful”. But it was def ubiquitous
Then again “NASA” my favorite from tu,n is also really simple so it might come down to the Hows of the simplicity/repetition rather than the fact of it

where should someone to start understand why spirit and others like her

If you’re interested in it from that particular angle I guess listen to whatever seems to have garnered the best ratings of the users whose taste you are implicitly probing haha? Sweetener is where she seems to start thinking on an Album scale even tho it’s jumbled. (I also think it has her peak work—the stuff with Pharrell.) Tu,n is a subdued short sweet lil thing. Dangerous Woman is the end of the singles-centric (?? What do U guys think) era and has a bunch of heaters, including bonus tracks

I guess I’ll check sweetener then thanks
