'So I've played this album several times now but only ever on Spotify, and my only real complaint is that the audio seems quieter than other albums.'
Yeah it's mad quiet, gotta crank it right up compared to a lot of other stuff. No biggie. I imagine comparing it to a band like the Killers isn't ever going to be appropriate for the reasons Dewi mentioned. In fact a lot of faux-indie shite like that is mega bloody 'loudness war loud' for some inexplicable reason.
Back to this and 'Everything I Say' is an absolute beauty, I wish the whole album would stick to that formula. The guitar layering and haunting vocals work so beautifully together.

'you best put another wash on, love'
...actually the idea of soiling one's undies to band called 'Crippled Black Phoenix' is an amusing thought.

I don’t understand why the closer exists! Lost loses me.
In The Night and Everything I Say are really good though, especially the latter.

Yeah that was a weird choice, for sure.

I feel like a black sheep lol. Didn't quite get Everything I Say so far + totally fine with Bauhaus cover both itself and as a closer

Actually it's a lot like 'I, Vigilante' closer.

I did not like In The Night at all but really liked everything else I've heard so far
