Honestly I gave this 2 spins and even though I kind of liked it I have like 0 desire to ever listen to it again. This isn’t really my kind of thing and Joy scratches what little itch I have for this kind of thing well enough.

Lol it's for sure not Bonnie Prince Billy, though I love that guy too.

would highly recommend tuning into to the Brooklyn venue baby’s all right’s livestream of a concert by the new band Pure Adult if you like IDLES
it’s Jeremy Snyder, their front of house guy and occasional instrumentalist, and his girlfriend Bianca abarca, with a REALLY tight live band surrounding them. (Check out the video of them playing “sex plan” at the venue The Dance.) lyrically similar too for better or worse

I'm checking it out robert, and I'd say this is much more for Jesus Lizard/noise rock fans at first glance. But I guess people that like IDLES might like The Jesus Lizard and vice versa. I'm certainly into both lol.
|
| |
The live show makes their stuff very groovy whereas the EP def plays up the Experimental side of things...idk the Jesus lizard that well might have to check em out! I guess the connection is more circumstantial than aesthetic tho ur prob right lol
Tbh they mostly sound to me like other Brooklyn bands lol

"Yeah, it lacks the aggression of Brutalism or the pure melodic intrigue of Joy. Still a great record, but not to the level of previous LPs as many here have said. Still love this band a ton, though."
Glad Million came to sense
