Yeah man, never ventured on this side of music. Rosetta's satellites has always been a fav, but other than that ive never touched most post-metal. This was very impressive for me though.

Same.. never really got into anything post-metal beyond the salwarts. (Rosetta, Isis, The Ocean.) Always been more of a black metal purveyor.. but Precambrian is one of a select few 5s of mine I would shamelessly hock. This one might be my 2nd favorite Ocean record.

First listen done, my god, what was that BM outburst in Pleistocene? And that closer?

The only track that was a bit meh for me was Miocene, but the rest is Q U A L I T Y

@Obesrver: oh man, welcome! You have so much unbelievable music to discover, enjoy. I would suggest where to start, but the titans of post-metal are pretty well documented (Isis/Cult of Luna/Neurosis) and they'll likely keep you going for a while by themselves.

'Pleistocene might be close to soty.. Just putting that out there.' (2)

I like this line of thinking, probably 2nd to Imperial Triumphant's 'Atomic Age' for me.

Agreed with Demon. I can do without Eocene and Oligocene, but the rest is quality stuff.

album should have been a The Great Misdirect by btbam and/or Train of thought by DT type of track listing don't @ (ie 10+ min dino song followed by 10+ min dino song and so on, 5 in total)

Every time I listen to oligocene and eocene I like them more. Oligocene as a single didn't work for me, but now it's a 4+ . Both tracks have both melancholic and sad vibes that I love as part of the album.
