Why would anyone want to listen to these guys over the real thing, they sound god damn exactly like the deftones

I definitely think it's different enough to warrant having them both. And I certainly don't mind the similarities that are here in the slightest. Wish more bands would "rip off" Deftones if it came out as good as this does.

"i think this album is a grower, not a show-er."

Stellar review.

Sounds like a collab album between a Deftones ripoff band and the most generic metalcore band ever.

Lol someone clearly hasn’t suffered through the most generic metalcore bands because this is leaps and bounds better

Too much of this album passes me by, dissapointing really as when it's good it's excellent but there's a lot of rubbish here.

I'd personally cut the deftones bits over the "generic" metalcore

THIS is the review this album needed and sums up basically all my thoughts on it, everything sounds like a bunch of well-played but derivative as fuck material just kind of mashed together.

a derivative of derivatives from a genre that’s 30 years old fuck outta here

my brother said this reminded him of emmure parts and if that’s the case then they made emmure guitar tones sound cool

But to be honest the deftones bits are interesting, I think they need to go full whatever-gaze and we might have a good album in the future.

I need to spin this again. It's a pretty good record on first listen, but maybe it'll grow.

The production is pretty fucking ace, though.
