Think I'm also in the minority that prefers the Humanure to Harvest Floor era. Haven't jammed this yet though apart from the first single. I dig the last two albums though too. That said it makes me sad that they don't really revisit any of those older albums at all live the past two times I've seen them. They opened the second show I ever attended and that set was batshit

humanure and karma are not that far off from what deicide have been doing tbh

I'll have to check some newer Deicide again and compare. Jam the first Cattle EP if you haven't. Completely different band but it rules

yeah ive been telling people

it was pretty much 90s metalcore at that point, genuinely their most interesting work or maybe tied with human jerky

they started metalcorey, then moved to grind, then what a lot of people dont seem to acknowledge is the mid era isnt grind anymore either, just deicide style dm maybe a bit techier, but then they lost me with all the fucking breakdowns on their new shtit

The production on this one is a vast improvement over their older material. I've been enjoying this record a lot lately.

I need to jam this one again it's been awhile. Honestly can't decide if I prefer this new era of their sound or Humanure-Harvest Floor era. They're both cool but at the same time I think it kind of sucks that they no longer play any of their pre pirate vocal era stuff live anymore. Got to see them in 2010 and they still probably had the craziest set I've ever seen. Travis was a madman back then. I said hi to him after the set and he just rolled his eyes back and grunted at me lol

the production on this is pretty bad lmao they could stand to make the drums not sound so comically mechanical in future

anyway this grew off me hard it's like a 2.8 or something now. just no reason to care compared to monolith. like genuinely this is pretty boring it's just wading through straight trems until the funky vocals come in and then it's fun for 30 seconds and then it goes back to the worst trems ever. i hope they remember how to write a riff before the next one
