@Demon: Past-me would agree. I used to believe that no one should be waking up before the sun has started rising. But old-me with two young kids and a full time job knows that if I don’t force myself to wake up at that ungodly hour to work out, I won’t have any other time to do it.

"Stand witness to The Long Defeat! Hearken to the first emanation of the third era of DEATHSPELL OMEGA; forty-four minutes of Black Metal enacted through five instalments. Recorded live by the French power trio in July 2021. Bile and venom distilled and added until the leaves fell.

“The Long Defeat” unfolds over three parallel storylines told via three different mediums. Two in writing: the lyrics, as well as a fable. The third speaks through the artwork – two metres’ worth of maniacally detailed visions depicting the same premise its written content draws from. All three are fundamentally entwined but diverging in narrative, each complementing or contradicting the others."

Hmmm... "Third era of DO"??? Did they get rid of miko? Is this going to be instrumental?? New vocalist?? So many questions!!!

Will donate my weekly earnings to some kinda anti-nazi org if someone steals a copy of the vinyl and uploads scans of the art

on the bandcamp page it speaks about the album being 'recorded live by the french power trio'... Whatever that means. Is it Hasjarl, Khaos and the unknown drummer, meaning Aspa is out? Would be awesome!

What difference does it make if Aspa is out?

Supporting or not supporting an active neo-nazi financially does make a difference to me.

I get that but the rest of the members aren't much better. Here's what they said in an interview:

"I of course am very proud of the brilliant actions of intolerance that took place during the National-Socialist era in Germany, and in Europe during WW2. To gaz the jews and so many liberal thinking people was fantastic. We, in Deathspell Omega, are definitely fascistic thinking people, and proud of it"

That interview is 20 years old but they never took back that statement so

tbh I wasn't aware of that. Actually the lyrics on Furnaces to me seem to somehow go into the opposite direction. A mocking dismantling of auotcrat rule based on violence and what it does to the mind of the rulers... but that statement obviously is beyond repair. Do you have a source to read the whole interview?
