In all seriousness though (because of course I'm kidding above) there's something about rapping that I just find really incongruous with "regular" singing. It's not my thing but I have no objection to rap in the context of hip hop but when you put it in a context where singing is the norm it really bothers me, it just feels so silly. For some reason it doesn't necessarily work the same way in the opposite direction though.

Hip hop is as vast a genre as any other. I felt the same way about it once. Same with electronic. In retrospect it was silly because those are such massive umbrellas to write off, which of course do have stuff I dont like but also....

Part of it is just that there is so much music out there in the genres I aready like that I haven't yet discovered that I just don't feel the need to branch into hip hop.
