As if a band this well known would release an album in a language the majority of their listeners can't comprehend, fair play to them had they done just that, but it was never realistically going to happen.



Personally I listen to plenty of stuff with lyrics that are either foreign, indecipherable, or complete gobbledygook, so can't imagine hearing Opeth in Swedish will be particularly off-putting.
