listened to the first track, sounds like a cattle decap copy with some wacky synths. I can dig

Malediction is insane
like others have said the album as a whole is much better than Reclaimer however Reclaimers high point are much better than this ones

Man this album still rocks. For some naïve reason I was convinced the average rating would remain well above a 4.1. Oh well.

Can't please everyone unfortunately, and this isn't too popular a genre anyways, so it's to be expected.

Yesterday I was cleaning numerous bloody instruments at work, and this was the perfect companion piece.

Listened to this and Reclaimer back to back today. Reclaimer is just better. I still think this is a 4.5 so I guess I'll just have to 5 Reclaimer.

Finally listened to this and its really just generic modern tech Deathcore with shitty symphonic elements.
Deathcore still hasnt had anything great in over 10 years.

Yeah, a deathcore band with hardly any breakdowns and symphonic elements, totally generic bro. Its like, everyones doing that already!
"Deathcore still hasnt had anything great in over 10 years."
Deathcore finally gets a slew of decent bands that dont abuse breakdowns and know how to write a song, and you think it was better before? Lol.

I listen to Hardcore/Metalcore/Post-Hardcore far more than any Death or Thrash Metal.

You just described late 2000s Deathcore, not early Deathcore.

Isn't that early deathcore though

Fused Together... was released in the early 2000's, so that's probably what's meant with early deathcore

no, as Thalassic pointed out theres The Red Chord, but theres also other stuff that was Deathcore ranging from the late 90s and early 2000s.

Also
"Yeah, a deathcore band with hardly any breakdowns and symphonic elements, totally generic bro. Its like, everyones doing that already!"
The 2010s have given way to tons of Deathcore bands with slightly more tech elements. Bands such as Abiotic, Enterprise Earth, Signal the Firing Squad etc. all of which including this band while are surely better than the likes of Suicide Silence or Despised Icon and other late 2000s stuff still dont even come close to the earlier stuff. These guys aside from their awfully thin and weightless symphonic elements arent really anything special.
|
| |
I dig stuff like Despised Icon way better than most of the tech-leaning deathcore bands tbh. At least Despised Icon can bring the mosh.

ill admit that The Healing Process is decent but everything else they did was trash.
|

I still dig Ills. Dumb as hell, but in the right mindset it can be fun for a meathead like myself.
