^Indeed, end the hype, pre-order, consumerism trends and drop the bombs by surprise like in the old days.

Calling it now it's going to have a dream unending vibe mixed with the classic tomb mold sound. Or at the very least be a full on prog album. Look at the album title and cover... Deff going to be a atmospheric vibes going on

Given the progression they've had I put my two cents into the new one being their best and breakthrough album to the modern DM elite
|

I hope it's blackened country & western style

Blackened country... sounds like something a band like Cobalt would get right

I mean they already are a modern elite death metal band tbh. Not to many bands in the new school get more traction/praise than them prob blood Incantation that's about it honestly

in terms of trver dm yeah not much. Horrendous are in there, but outside of weirder avant- and technical stuff there's not much competition.

Especially as far as the more standard osdm revival type bands. Undeath, mortiferum, necrot etc etc. Tomb have kinda broke out of that underground category alot of those banda are in and actually gained a good amount of recognition in the metal community in general

yeah it's a weird series of elements that make them popular. Partially album quality, partially the merch, partially the meme. same way everyone has a Starspawn shirt, it kinda left the normal audience.

Tomb mold is great. I dont know shit about who is more recognized honestly but there are quite a few bands id put over them making music rn

yeah these guys are solid and I dug this a fair bit more than their previous release, but they haven't got anything on the likes of Horrendous or Blood Incantation. The former of those two bands just upped their game, so let's see what these guys come up with
plenty of other great, less recognised stuff out there, just talking about the big fish rn (mostly based on what people say here, as I don't have much of a perspective on these things).

> being their best and breakthrough album to the modern DM elite
these guys are one of the most hyped bands in the modern dm movement, they don't need a "breakthrough"

That's fair. I mean I don't think they are the absolute best 1# band out thay every other band should kneel to or anything but different strokes they are one of my favorites forsure. Great band. Especially again when it comes to the more "standard" dm bands out they are among top of the pack with a doubt
