Yeah I think its very much in comparison of what they've created before. Of course after 10 years without new material people get their hopes up incredibly high. Also, Rammstein haven't released a single bad album yet, with only Rosenrot being seen as slightly sub-par, so that doesn't help the scores for 'another' good release from them.

it's a small miracle the album turned out as good as it did tbf. I don't get what people were expecting? They're not gonna walk out of the gates 10 years on, in their 50's, with the heaviest shit of their career -- at least, that's not what I ever expected from them. In a way, it's a perfect evolution to what they've always been shuffling towards if you've been following their progression.

Yeah songs like Mein Teil, Wiener Blut, Heirate Mich, Ich Tu Dir Weh, Spieluhr are all more graphic than this. But thats part of their charm tbh. Like, there's no band out there that does this in the way they do.
