Take This Life comes at you with blistering fury, Leeches starts with a nearly nu metal approach and the verse is barely in rhythm at first, that's the disappointing part.

"They did when I saw them. They played Moonshield, The Jester's Dance, Only for the Weak, and Cloud Connected in succession. It was really amazing and I felt like I was in 2005 when I first started listening to them."

so maybe not all hope is lost?

i never got to see them. i wish i did before Siren Charms came along. up to SOAPF i would have been willing to go. but now they've got three dumpster fires under their belts and i dont want to sit through that shit just so i can hear some of their mid-era stuff that i like alright and maybe some of their older stuff.

Honestly, I saw them live about a month ago and Anders sounded pretty good. I could tell he had backing vocal tracks for some of the choruses though

well, they play 3 songs off "battles" and two from "siren charms" in the current live set, plus three off the new album, two being cool tunes imo

I've been jamming this a lot trying to find some redeeming value to it. Still looking.

@Eak: It still feels weirdly off coming after such a brawler as "Take This Life". The 1-2 punch of "The Mirror's Truth" and "Disconnected" feels a lot more natural to me.

There's songs that might suck in studio but own live so I don't know if I'd write it off just yet

I saw that at some shows they've played scorn. They played colony when I went and that was awesome but scorn wouldve really badass
