I love how Lower Empire has a prog feel to it. Probably the best song on here, along with Afterdusk.

Def spin their previous record if you like this one. It's one of my fav metalcore releases of the past few years.

Agree hard. Lower Empire is just different to every other song and Afterdusk was just incredibly solid.

it's a shame that apart from Lower Empire this record is basically EWS 2.0, with more annoying cleans (for as far as I can remember). I really want them to experiment more like they did on Lower Empire (the vocoder was a nice touch), because this record felt kind of effortless

I want to like this way more than I do but these guys really need to learn how to pace their songs out better

If the avg for this frightens you, don't check the average for the new Ice Nine Kills albums lol

revisiting this, I’ve realized the absolute potential of many of the songs that are interrupted by unnecessary clean chelsi that disrupt the flow of the song. “Visible Unseen” has some great, fun guitar riffs, but when the clean chorus comes in, it kind of detracts from the value of the song
