Agreed. If you guys want GOOD throat singing in your metal, you need to check out Ego Fall.

So I gave this about 9 total listens and have finally decided that this completely sucks other than the first minute of the album

This has a lot of potential but for some reason it's just not grabbing me, some of the odd time signatures feel forced. I feel like if they dropped the djent and went a more Karnivool type direction they could really do great.

There is definitely potential for them to make a 4.5-5/10 eventually. This just isnt doing it for me though, Inmazes had way more standout moments.

I think you mean 4.5-5/5... agree with the general point though.

their distinguishing factor is that they do soaring synth prog with djent elements. dropping the djent would mean changing their whole sound.

Vocals annoyed me a bunch sadly, this is pretty cool instrumentally though

So what you're saying is, you think they should drop the djent even though you liked their djentier album way more? Talk about not knowing what you want. xD

I just think their hooks and big moments were better on that album, not really anything to do with the Djent portions. Same on this, it works with their sound and it's not BAD, I just think they could do something more interesting most of the time when they are djenting it out.

I'll take your word for it man. The first album djents almost the entire time, which was my major issue with it. This one cuts back significantly on the djenting and relies more on vocals and synths which is why I think it's an improvement. The band only really gets into djent mode a couple of times on this album anyway.

It's hard for me to pinpoint what else is holding this back for me really, I should love it and I want to. I need to keep listening to it, I've been fairly depressed too, so maybe its just bad timing haha.

First time listening to this, and I'm really liking it. Very relaxing music this and already a couple of memorable songs. Most albums I don't listen from start to finish the first time around, but this just flew by.
