I feel like I should like this album more but it feels like a step backwards. I mean did they really think Anthem of the Defeated was a good song? lmao it doesn't sound like FFAK. more like some b-side slipknot cover song.
waayyyyyy too many overused clean choruses in price of agony and oblivion :L
bands really need to stop using the same clean chorus passage after its been used 3 times. Even 2 times is enough. I think I counted that “tell me i won’t be forgotten” part 6 times in Oblivion. seriously gets annoying.
imo i’m starting to notice clean choruses are becoming the new generic thing. so many bands force them into songs so liberally when it’s not even executed well.

Yea I’m not that much of a fan of cleans anymore, only a few bands pull them off once in a while. but come on, you gotta admit they went overboard by using the same chorus 6 times in a single song.

Nope, the hooks are a big reason why I listen to this style of metalcore.

If you don't like cleans, listen to music without them. Fucking simple fix

Nah you ^ both don't get it. I like clean vocals, but they just seem to overused a bit too much. They did a good job with it on Deathgrips, just not as good as with this album.

Overused clean vocals in metalcore. I am shocked

So far I’ve enjoyed both new singles but they still seem relatively plain for FFAK

I was hoping God of Fire would be heavier, but I still dig them both.

new singles aren't bad by any means, but I'm not expecting them to top Deathgrip, Slave to Nothing, or C/D based on how these singles are setting it up

God of Fire was alright but didn't blow me away

God of Fire is purely a song to get the live crowd hype, Ryo and Ryan sounded good on it tho. The other single was pretty boring, sounded like every 2000s melocore band ever

I like that the guitars punch a bit more on Breaking the Mirror than most melodic core bands these days. It also helps that Ryan is a beast
