I felt fooled with this album. the first song lead to me believe this was going to be a gorgeous and delicate synthpop record. and then the end of that song came and felt a little too industrial/ bombastic for the overall atmosphere, and that kind of ruined the hypnotic state most of that first track put me in. and then the rest of the album derailed my expectations tremendously. I can still see how people enjoy this though, I definitely enjoy harsh electronic music. just not this.

Thanks guys, I'll delve deeper at some point. I might need to get 2018 lists etc. out of the way first mind.

well you said you did enjoy harsh electronic music, and your argument is that the rest of the album doesn't sound like its first couple minutes, so i was lost on what you didn't like about it specifically

I don’t find this so “deep,” or maybe it is deep but it’s so full of surface pleasures to me. The bangers bang, the ambient ambients, and everything comes together wonderfully. It’s the second best album of the year

This is growing back on me again. I don't know what to make of this because some weeks it's grating and others I find it extremely interesting.

Yeah I like this because it’s so obviously enjoyable on the surface but it’s not without nuance, or a sense of deeper perspective (either musically or conceptually I guess, although I haven’t delved into the latter too much thus far), hoping that holds true after further inspection.

Damn, shocked at the 2. I just heard of this album like less than a minute ago but it’s one of my good friends favorite album of the year and he’s pretty trust worthy when it comes to music
