Also I've seen a few people now complain about Jay's lyrics being unintelligible, but like...that's literally always been the case. My favourite part of Hopesfall is that you can sing vague gibberish along with him the entire time. It takes away any need to understand or care about words while you just focus on his style and sound.

this rules btw and this is coming from someone who has struggled really hard with basically everything else they've ever done, largely due to massive production issues that used to hinder these guys a lot in the past

yup you can have your own meanings to the songs
|

Honestly I think Magnetic North still tops this, way more diverse and adventurous with song structures and Jay’s vocal performance is off the chain. I like this a lot but I feel like they were holding back just a bit. It’s still a great album and it’s still growing on me

Yeah their first 2.5 albums are pretty metalcore, then A-Types goes a bit more into space rock territory, then Magnetic North CREATED ITS OWN UNIQUE GENRE THAT NO BAND HAS EVER RECREATED SINCE.
|
| |
But in all seriousness, Magnetic North and this album continue the band's development towards spacey rock music with a post-hardcore edge and maybe a little nudge at their modern prog rock influences.
|
| |
Magnetic North is the best yes
It’s always the first one I want to go back to
