this just feels like amorphis by the numbers way too much
like even on first listen it felt familiar.

This was my first Amorphis album, it quickly became one of my most played albums of the year. I’ve since only checked out Under the Red Cloud, will probably make my way through the rest of their discography in the next couple months.

yeah this really went down in my books. it's still very solid but the album that preceded it is better than it just felt too safe and by the numbers for amorphis at this point to be anything but solid.
honestly i ended up doing my list last night and it was like number 25, partly because it's been such a tremendous year but this album did disappoint me a bit. still though, i can't be too disappointed by a 3.5.
