thats why angel dust is so different is because he had more of a say on that album?
that's a stretch. all indications are that it was more of a collective response to how this one was received
billy gould was always key though, maybe more than a lot of people realize. he wrote most of the guitar parts on angel dust and a couple other albums

Yeah Jim Martin usually only threw in his arrangements. And now he is growing pumpkins.

I wish they'd done more with the War Pigs cover. It's solid, but too by-the-book for this band.

Check the live version in the Brixton Academy. No way they could have topped that.

It is an amazing cover (also I love seeing Patton fucking around live), I guess I just don't find cover songs very interesting in general.

Never liked the original that much and the cover is definitely the weakest moment here

You might be right. The scream is 1:58 is perfect. I'm not used to seeing Mike with long hair.

Climbing into the fan was a classic Patton moment.

I didn't think he was going to make it back to the microphone in time.

Even though I really like the goofy punk-funk vibe of the Mosley era FNM, has there ever been a bigger upgrade at the lead singer position than to go from Chuck Mosley to Mike Patton? From barely capable of carrying a single note to a dude that can sing in six fuckin' octaves.

Mike Patton is among the best for sure. And he improved immensely from album to album, the natural progression from The Real Thing up to AOTY is nothing short of impressive.

Sweet album

Somehow I cannot stand his voice in this album but it's a great FNM record, otherwise.
